Artist's Description
This was an emotionally intense piece for me to work on. The backdrop is my own eye, and the subject is the retinal surgeon who saved my sight. He performed two emergency retinal surgeries on the eye. I titled the painting "Symbiosis" because as I was working on it I thought about how much I needed him, but how at the same time he needed me in order to earn his living. The actual size of the paper is 11 x 15. I have indicated 14 x 19 1/2 inches as the size as this is what it is when cropped. - and it is the cropped portion which is visible here in the photo.
